Kühner AG is a Swiss manufacturer of shaking incubators and bioreactors for the life science industry and is among the leading providers in this field. Its products are globally recognized for their quality, flexibility, durability and scalability.
The product portfolio ranges from benchtop shakers and laboratory-scale shaking incubators to industrial solutions.
In addition, Kuhner offers systems for fully automated cultivation applications, online measurement technology for process monitoring during shaking operations, and orbital shaken bioreactors with single-use bag technology.
Thanks to the Kuhner Atelier department, the company also develops customized solutions to optimally address needs not covered by the market.
Founded in 1949 by Adolf Kühner, this family-owned company was led by his son Markus Kühner until spring 2025. Since then, the company has been led by the third generation under the leadership of his daughter, Laura.
The company aims to thoroughly understand its customers’ processes and requirements in order to shorten development timelines and sustainably improve application efficiency. This approach forms the basis for long-term business relationships.
In addition to its core business, the company also acts as the official distributor of selected premium laboratory equipment brands in Switzerland under the Kuhner labEquip brand.

These seminars address questions about cultivation conditions and offer suggestions for optimising the operation of your shaken bioreactors (shake flasks, microtiter plates, tubespins, etc.).
Kuhner is also part of the “Shaking Technology Forum”, made up of several companies, each specialist in different areas of shaking technology. This Forum provides user support for those involved in research and development.
At Kuhner, we are continually optimizing our production processes to reduce energy consumption and waste. In addition, we aim to use as many environmentally friendly materials for our products as possible. Last but not least, the Kuhner company itself contributes in many different ways to save energy and reduce waste.
For instance, the electricity for our buildings is produced by over 200 solar panels on the rooftop, saving more than 54 tons of CO2 per year!
