Shaken bioreactors such as shake flasks and microtiter plates are applied in enormous numbers in many fields of biotechnological and pharmaceutical research, and now gain even more attention due to the introduction of new types of shaken bioreactors e.g., shaken multi-cubic meter vessels.
Although shaken bioreactors have been applied for decades
in important fields such as screening for better production strains, media optimization,
pre-cultivation etc., the knowledge on the correlation between cultivation
conditions and certain process parameters is often limited.
As a result, questions such as the following may come
up:
During the advanced seminar, many examples and scientific data addressing the above questions will be presented. The attendees will learn how to use shake flasks / microtiter plates in such a way that poor cultivation conditions are avoided. Thus, the seminar will lead to a higher reproducibility of experimental data, to a more successful scale-up into the stirred bioreactor and to optimized screening conditions.
We are looking forward to meeting you at this advanced seminar at the Kuhner headquarter in Basel!
