Interfaces

Various interfaces for Kuhner shakers

Working with shakers under the rules of e.g. ISO-9001 or GLP/GMP requires continuous monitoring of all influencing parameters such as temperature, humidity, shaker speed and COconcentration. For this reason all Kuhner machines are equipped with a CAN-bus (Controller Area Network). The CAN-bus is characterized by its reliability and flexibility.


NET-60 (for W and X shakers)

The NET-60 is a very flexible interface. It allows almost all conventional Bus-systems to be connected to the CAN-bus of a Kuhner shaker. Using the NET-60 technology it is possible to connect a large number of Kuhner W or X shakers with an OPC server system.

CAN-USB

The CAN-USB module connects the CAN-bus of the shaker with the USB interface (universal serial bus) of a PC. The power supply for the CAN-USB module is via the USB port of the PC.

CAN-Ethernet

Using a CAN-Ethernet gateway the shaking machine can be linked via the internet/Ethernet to your PC. A UDP/IP based block transfer protocol (BTP) is used for the communication. In this way the CAN-messages are sent to the Ethernet with minimal delay. The PC only requires a network connection to the Ethernet. Kuhner Insight software simultaneously manages up to 5 gateways (machines).

EMI-60 (External Machine-Interface)

The EMI module is plugged into a CAN connection and firmly attached. The EMI has several interfaces:

  • Two alarm relays
  • Two analogue outputs with 0…5 volts (an option for the signal in mA is available)
